New beginnings

New Years also bring new plans for people. I really like to read the different things everyone want to do!
As I sit here on my sofa at 1047 pm on New Years Eve night waiting for the ball to drop and just playing on my Mac, I read that some people want more time with family, some want to get healthy, some want more patience, and some want not to worry what others think of them, BUT one really spoke to me more than anything else, let me share part of it with you

One way that I am going to do that is to read through Gospels this year. I am looking for the way that Jesus treated people, because I think I can do better at that. I am looking for the way that Jesus lifted people up, paid attention to people no one else would, even reached out and welcomed people into his life, because I think I can be better at that.

I am going to look more for how Jesus related to His Father, because I think I can do better at that too.... I want to find the little things Jesus did and see how those framed his ministry, because I think that it is the little things that make the difference.

So why don't you join me on this journey in 2011? Read the Gospels. There are 89 chapters... so that means if you and I read 1 chapter a day, we will go through the books 4 times next year.

Why should we do this? Well, Jesus said, "Follow Me." If we are going to "follow Jesus" we ought to know more about what He did , where He did it, and who He did it with. We find that in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Call it a resolution if you want... I call it a plan. And if I miss a day, its not the end of the world. I will just pick up where I left off... As one writer said, " The goal is not for getting me through the Word of God, it is for getting the Word of God through me." Its a journey... one that God directs. I figure He will reveal what I need to see, when I need to see it.

So many people want to treat others right, But do they follow Jesus when doing it? Maybe we should all take this challange, I will be! Take it with me, Let me know if you are joining my journey!

See you in Matthew tomorrow!

weekend project!

Almost done just have to back, bind, quilt!

Its been awhile!

Update on our family!

ME- Im doing good! I have been busy with many things, my lastest is my dear frind Demple! Shes awesome, I visit her 2 days a week sometimes 3, she is a 93 yr old, and a joy to watch her smile when I come thru the door. There are days that she may sit in her chair and sleep other days we may look at her photo albums, or we may take a walk to the curb. Dont know what each time will bring, but she has been a total blessing to my life~

Duane- Doing well, of course always good and bad days, Ive kept him pretty bus this summer and fall with 3 different trips! The first he went to Utah to a camp with guys like him, he enjoyed himself and also had to face some challenges, but I believe in his own mind he was able to do that! The 2ND, he went on a Dove Hunt that was with the wounded warrior! He had fun! But I will tell you I DON'T like Dove, to me it taste like liver! Last trip he traveled to Florida to go Gator hunting! He had a blast! He got 2 and we have the hide at the taxidermy, and the gator we had on my birthday, it was good!

The boys!- Keeps us busy with sports and Skylar and his social life! That kid can blow up some texting in month month! I'm so thankful for unlimited!

The good Lord is always blessing our family in many different ways in our new life, its been a quite one and thats what we wanted!
I think Him each day for it!

Im Sorry!

So many people are asking me to post! Have not done it in a very very long time!
So here it goes!

In Nov. 09 the boys and I left Colorado and headed to Kansas to start our new adventure! We had to leave Duane behind for 3 weeks while he was wrapping up the old Army stuff!

Got the boys enrolled in school that has really worked real well! I was a little scared! Im not a big public school fan! But, the fact that they use apple computers I was so happy, because those who now me Im a total Apple fan!! Go ahead and laugh Darin!

Thanksgiving has come and gone we went to Tulsa to my brother and Amandas house! We had all 5 boys with us! What a blessing that was.

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas we really have focused on getting Duane the care that he needs! I know that my prayers are being answered because its all falling into place!!

Christmas came and went!

Jan 2010

It was a very rough month Duane took a turn and we had to go to the hospital, I knew he wasn't good, he had not slept in a week. Also his bipap machine was being fixed. After several hours in the new ER to us(not military) I finally had to say the the Dr,I need mental health. He looked at me and I said "my husband has PTSD and is scared to go home" So after 2 hours waiting on mental health I was told that (this is Hard) Duane is suicidal, and I had to drive him 3 hours to the Wichita hospital to be admitted, because the VA didn't have a program for him. So I drove 3 hours for us to see a dr telemed( over a tv) to be told that they wouldn't admit him because he had no plan and because he had not hurt himself! So at 4 am we drove back home.

On Jan.17,2010 Duane Retired from the Army! It has been very different! We have been very very busy driving to Wichita to the VA for him, sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. He is now getting the therapy that he needs and it looks like our trips will only be 10 miles one way, and once a month we will travel to Wichita.

We are really enjoying being very close to Cyle and Codie and are bless to have them close to us! Codie,Zac,Sky are all playing basketball so you can only guess what our life is like! Cyle is working and boy can that kid save money, and Justin is getting ready to graduate high school and is a blessing and helps in any way he can! I havent done dished in forever!!

Ive been quilting and loving it!

We are still church hunting, but pray the right one comes soon!

THanks you for taking time and enjoying our family!
I promise I will be better, I need this it does help me with Duane.
ALso, thank you all for your prayers!
Love to all in Christ Jesus!
